Good Neighbour Care was established with the determination to influence a change in the attitude and approach of health care workers towards the people who use their services and in so doing build a better path to a more reflective, conscientious and person-centred system of care delivery. Our clients can testify that we are achieving these. There comes a time in life when you need to slow down, take things in your stride and allow other people to support you with those activities that have become a little tasking to do. This does not, and should not, mean, in any way; giving up your right to choice and independence in the process. Here at Good Neighbour Care, it is important to us that your right to choice, independence, dignity, confidentiality, cultural values, uniqueness and all those little things that matter to you as an individual are respected and upheld at all times. We will therefore sit with you, and any persons or agencies you might want to involve, and discuss in detail your choices, expectations and exactly how you would like to be supported. As part of our quality assurance, we will check with you from time to time what you think of our service and if we are meeting your care needs. Ours is a dynamic team of trained and experienced staff whose main goal is to ensure clients’ comfort and happiness.
We provide services to everyone and our clients have the right to expect high quality service while we achieve this by ensuring that our staff are well trained, well supported to recognise that clients’ confidentiality, dignity, privacy and choice are respected at all times.
In Personal care, we assist with all activities of daily living. Our staff are professional, highly trained and passionate about caring.
We will support you with:
Getting out of bed
Medication administration, re-ordering and collection
Having a wash/bath/shower
Accompany clients to the GP and refferals
Assisting with working with other professionals
Hair care and grooming ( where possible we will assist clients to hair dressers or organise a home visit by a mobile hair dresser)
Meal preparation, serving and feeding where necessary ( we also assist in managing special nutritional needs)
Skin care and management of skin conditions
We deal with correspondence, day-to-day household tasks such as:
Cleaning, vacuum cleaning and dusting around the house
In specialised care needs, we liaise with families and advocates, other agencies and professionals to ensure that all aspects of clients care needs are met.
We accompany clients on outings including visits to:
Families and friends
Leisure and other recreational activities
GP, Dentist, Optician, Chiropodist, hospital appointments and other health related outings
Places of worship
Places of study
